When imported furniture works well
An imported piece may be the right decision when its dimensions, comfort, finish, access requirements and delivery timeline already suit the project. Established products can offer a clear visual reference and consistency across a collection.
Clients should still confirm actual dimensions, material specification, maintenance, warranty support, replacement parts, access and whether assembly or service is available locally.
When custom furniture has an advantage
Custom furniture becomes valuable when the room has specific proportions, when several pieces must relate to one another, or when the family needs a different comfort, storage or finish solution.
The design can respond to floor plans, windows, services, circulation, lift access and material palettes. Changes should be made with furniture knowledge so one adjustment does not create a problem elsewhere.
Execution matters in both choices
For imported furniture, inspect the product specification and support network. For custom furniture, inspect the drawings, workshop, samples, completed work and installation process. In both cases, the quality of information before purchase is more useful than broad labels such as “international” or “bespoke”.
