Conversation and room study
Meenu and her team understand the family, floor plan, references and intended use.
More than almost any other piece of furniture, a sofa becomes part of the rhythm of a home: conversations, quiet evenings, films, guests and the familiar corner someone always chooses.
At Minnoli, every sofa begins with the people who will use it. Meenu Narula and her team study the room, the family, preferred posture and the way the space is lived in before guiding proportion, cushioning, support, upholstery and detail.
Begin a sofa consultation
A living room used for conversation asks for a different sofa from a den made for long evenings and films. The age of family members, how they prefer to sit, whether they lounge or sit upright, and how easily they want to rise from the seat all influence the final comfort.
A very soft seat can feel inviting for a few minutes yet offer too little support for someone who uses it every day. Minnoli generally works towards a balanced, semi-soft comfort for living rooms, then adapts the combination where the family prefers a firmer or more relaxed feel.
The sofa is studied with the entire room: circulation, television distance, coffee and side tables, doors, windows and the number of people the space should hold. Length alone is not enough. Seat depth, arm width, back height and the visual weight of the base decide whether the sofa settles naturally into the architecture.
Good sofa proportions begin with established furniture standards. Where the family or room requires it, measured adjustments can be made to seat height, depth, back angle, arms and overall length. Each change is considered with the complete construction so comfort and appearance remain resolved together.
It is not simply where a room is furnished. It is where much of a family’s everyday life gathers.

Cushioning is developed as a combination rather than a single measure of softness. The seat, back and outer upholstery must work together. At the Kolkata studio, clients can experience different comfort levels and discuss whether the sofa is intended for formal use, everyday sitting or deeper lounging.
Clients can explore woven upholstery, selected Warwick performance fabrics, D’Decor FabriCare, premium leather alternatives and genuine Italian leather. Colour and texture are considered alongside maintenance, sunlight, frequency of use and the presence of children or pets.
Selected Warwick and D’Decor collections offer easy-clean, stain-resistant or fire-rated performance. These features vary between collections, so the relevant specification and care guidance are checked at the time of selection rather than assumed for every fabric.
Arm profiles, piping, quilting, loose or fixed cushions, wood, metal and the line of the base are resolved as part of one composition. The objective is not to add detail for effect, but to give the sofa a character that belongs to the room around it.
One team carries the sofa through every important decision.

Seat depth, height, back support and cushioning are discussed and experienced at the studio.
The sofa is resolved against room dimensions, circulation, access and connected furniture.
Upholstery, colour, texture, arms, piping, quilting, legs and finishes are selected together.
The sofa is made in Kolkata, reviewed, protected for transport and installed in its intended setting.
Fabric can be seen, cushioning can be felt and dimensions can be discussed against your floor plan. Bring photographs, layouts, 3D views or references, and the Minnoli team will help resolve a sofa around the way your home is meant to be used.
Plan your studio consultationYes. Minnoli studies the floor plan, circulation, number of users, preferred posture and visual character of the room before resolving the sofa length, depth, seat height, back, arms, cushioning and upholstery.
Comfort is discussed according to how the sofa will be used and by whom. Clients can experience different cushioning combinations at the Kolkata studio. A living-room sofa may need more support for regular conversation and easier movement, while a den or media-room sofa may be deeper and more relaxed.
Minnoli begins with sound furniture proportions and can make considered adjustments where the room, the intended posture or the needs of the family require them. Changes are reviewed together because seat height, depth, back angle and cushioning affect one another.
Clients can explore woven upholstery, selected Warwick performance fabrics, D’Decor FabriCare, premium leather alternatives and genuine Italian leather. Performance features vary by collection and are confirmed during selection.
