Minnoli
Custom Furniture in Kolkata · Since 2004

From first drawing to final installation.

Minnoli designs and manufactures custom furniture in Kolkata for homes across India. Every commission is developed through personal consultation with Meenu Narula, careful study of the space, detailed drawings, material and fabric selection, production in our workshop, and a closely managed delivery and installation process.

Whether the requirement is one important piece or the furniture for an entire home, the work begins with understanding the client, the room and how the furniture will be used.

The Minnoli Approach

A personal beginning

Every client meets Meenu Narula. She founded Minnoli in 2004 and continues to lead the design direction and production standards of the furniture made by the company.

The first conversation is centred on the client: their home, requirements, design preferences and the way they intend to use the space. Floor plans, 3D views, site photographs and references help Meenu understand the architecture of the room as well as the client's expectations.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience, Meenu Narula, along with her team, guides clients through proportion, comfort, materials, fabrics, finishes and the practical decisions that determine how well a piece will work over time.

Designed around your home

The Minnoli team studies dimensions, layouts, access points, existing finishes and the relationship between different pieces in the room. Site visits and measurements are arranged when required, allowing the team to confirm proportions and installation conditions before drawings are finalised.

Detailed production drawings record dimensions, construction, materials, finishes and hardware. Clients remain connected to these decisions, with an open line of communication as the furniture is developed.

The workshop behind Minnoli

Behind every completed piece is a team of more than 100 craftsmen working across carpentry, polishing, upholstery, metalwork and finishing. Many members of the design, production and workshop teams have spent a significant part of their working lives with Minnoli.

There is a shared sense of responsibility behind the work. Every person involved wants the completed furniture to represent the quality of Minnoli and to be something the team is proud to send into a client's home.

Meenu remains closely involved as the work moves through production. Designs and materials pass through her consideration, pieces are reviewed during manufacturing, and completed furniture is examined before it is approved for dispatch.

From Conversation to Completion

01 · Understanding your home

Clients meet Meenu and share their requirements, floor plans, 3D views, photographs and references. The conversation establishes the design direction, functional requirements and atmosphere of the space.

02 · Design development

The team develops the furniture around the room and the people who will use it. Proportion, comfort, configuration, storage and the relationship between different pieces are considered at this stage.

03 · Materials and fabrics

Clients are guided through woods, veneers, stones, metals, fabrics, leathers, finishes and hardware. Each material is selected in relation to the design, expected use and surrounding interior.

04 · Drawings and site measurements

Detailed drawings are prepared before production. Where required, the Minnoli team visits the site to take measurements, review access and mark the final position of the furniture.

05 · Workshop production and final checks

The approved designs enter production in Minnoli's Kolkata workshop. Carpentry, upholstery, polishing, metalwork and finishing are coordinated by specialist teams. Completed pieces are reviewed for construction, proportion, comfort, detailing and finish before dispatch.

06 · Packing, delivery and installation

Furniture is carefully protected and professionally packed into crates before being loaded for transport. For projects outside Kolkata, Minnoli coordinates delivery, local handling and movement into the home. Where installation is required, the team completes the assembly, placement and final setup at site.

The Difference

Why choose workshop-manufactured custom furniture?

The difference is the experience of an established furniture house, a complete workshop and a team that manages every stage from the first measurement to the final installation.

Before production begins, the approved designs, dimensions, materials, finishes, scope of work and quotation are documented. This gives the client clarity from the outset and allows decisions affecting the design, cost or schedule to be resolved before manufacturing proceeds.

The furniture is manufactured in Minnoli's Kolkata workshop while work at the residence can continue independently. The site is not occupied for extended periods by carpentry, polishing and upholstery work. Completed pieces arrive professionally packed and prepared for installation, helping the project move towards a cleaner and more organised handover.

Workshop production allows several pieces to be manufactured and coordinated together. Proportions can be reviewed across rooms, materials and finishes can remain consistent, and specialist teams can work in parallel.

What you receive is not simply furniture manufactured to size. You receive the combined experience of Meenu Narula, a long-standing team, more than 100 craftsmen and a complete process created to deliver your furniture with greater clarity, consistency and care.
